In conclusion, the AR team has identified that in teaching and learning ESL new arrivals do not have much opportunity to practice the thinking processes before transition to mainstream schooling where a constructivist, inquiry and project based approach is used. Developing the productive thinking skills' language and thinking processes of ESL new arrivals, using the e5 Instructional Model, and the purposeful use of technology with digital portfolios, may change the teaching and learning and improve outcomes of ESL new arrivals.
